Long float rods made a huge comeback in 2011 as anglers bought them for fishing down the edge on commercials and this year they’re set to become even more popular with the launch of this new multi-length rod from Avanti.

This new Precision Power Waggler Combi rod is a combination rod which can be fished at both 12ft and 14ft lengths to give you improved control over your rigs on both running waters and lakes.

It comes as a four section rod with a short handled butt fitting into a middle section and equal length tip section to create the 12ft length. The addition of a 2ft dolly butt section taking it up to 14ft.

Unlike some log rods which are heavy and poker-like, the Avanti Precision Power Waggler is much softer and means it can also be used for silverfish as well as carp, and the through action means you can get away with lighter hooklengths and hooks too – often the key to getting more bites.

It also features a cork/duplon handle, ergonomic, screw up reel seat, and new hard-wearing Matsuku Black Eye lined guides.
